Strauhs is a Brazilian company, founded more than 55 years ago, with a strong tradition in the marine and natural gas compression segments.

Strauhs began its activities in 1948 manufacturing components and repairing marine engines. In 1950 it began to produce gasoline and Diesel motors for small ships, concentrating principally on river and coastal shipping.

In the 60’s Brazil achieved the position of second largest builder of ships in the world. As of this time we intensified our activities in this segment, supplying shipping equipment such as winches, deck machinery, cranes, propellers and propulsion shafts, both for internal shipping and for the offshore sector.

Strauhs is recognized as a leading manufacturer of shipping equipment with a tradition of more than 55 years, designing and manufacturing the most advanced products for all classes of ships and petroleum platforms, with ABS classification, BV, LR and DNV. We are suppliers of equipment to the biggest shipyards, shipping and petroleum prospecting and exploration companies in Brazil and South America.

After 1998, in response to the market trends towards natural gas, with the additional environmental benefits which its use brings to the transport and industrial sectors, Strauhs began to supply natural gas compression stations and is a pioneer in the manufacture of this equipment in Brazil.

Nowadays, we have a strong presence both in the shipping sector and in gas compression, and we continue to act with the strong conviction of always doing highly professional and ethical work.
