Winches and Deck Machinery

STRAUHS winches/deck machinery are designed and built to serve for all classes and size of ships. Our range includes principally windlasses, combined mooring and towing winches and anchor handling, capstans, research and fishing winches amongst others used for special applications.

Our winches/deck machinery are of high quality and proven reliability, and are installed in many of the long haul, coastal vessels, towboats, supply vessels, fishing boats and oil platforms built in Brazil in the last 30 years.

Besides winches, our product range includes all the control and drive systems. Winches can be supplied for practically all types of applications and requirements of capacity, speed, type of drive systems, etc.

Windlasses		horizontal and vertical types for cables of 19-122mm. With one or two cable lifters and warping heads. Chain stopper

Combined Anchor/Mooring Winches		Capacities of up to 40 tons. Constant tension system available.

Capstans		with capacities from 1.5 to 15 tons.

Towing/Anchor Handling Winches		with one or more drums; in line or waterfall type; electric, hydraulic or Diesel motor with torque converter. Capacities of up to 250 tons traction.

Towing Winches		Available for all types of towing.

Tugger winches		capacities of 1.5 to 30 tons.

Fishing Winches		available for all types of fishing boats: • Surrounding net winches • Drag net winches • trawl net winches

ROV and Research Winches		For deep-sea waters. Can be fitted with slip-ring for use with umbilical cables.

Provision Cranes		reach of up to 12 meters with capacities up to 5 tons.

Special Winches		for specialized applications and those with high traction capacities of up to 170 tons and braking of up to 220 tons. Apart from the shipping area, our winches can be found in range of applications such as power stations, civil engineering, factories, etc.

A-Frames		Complete range of A-frames with capacities from 1 ton to 20 tons. Can be supplied for installation on the stern or on the side of the ship.

Options:		• Constant tension system • Remote braking and clutch • Electric, hydraulic or Diesel motor • Variable speed. • Monitoring systems. Allow total control of the winch, indicating the tensions in the cable, speed and length of cable. Automatic Cable Spooling System. Allows uniform cable spooling on the drum.
