| Propellers
Strauhs propellers are designed to fulfil the
conditions required for efficiency and low levels
of vibration, noise and cavitation.
The propellers can be cast in manganese bronze,
aluminum bronze or, optionally, in stainless steel.
They are produced to very high quality standards
and are able to satisfy any classification requirements
demanded.
Manufactured with diameters of 600mm to 4000mm,
with 3,4 or 5 blades.
Besides propellers, the Strauhs supplies include
the design and manufacturing of propeller
shafts, stern tubes, bearings, flanges, sealings,
Kort nozzles, etc. |

Repairs
to damaged propellers
We also carry out repair services to propellers,
including the straightening of blades, repair of
cavitation eroded areas and the welding of new blade
tips that have been damaged or torn.

Propeller shafts
Besides propellers and Kort nozzles, our propulsion
systems also include the propeller shafts. This
combination allows us to supply optimized systems
in terms of performance and durability.
Shafts for all classes and size of ships are manufactured
to comply with the rigorous classification standards.
Shafts in sleeved carbon steel or in stainless steel.
Hollow shafts for control of the speed in propellers
with controllable pitch. Can be manufactured in
carbon steel or high resistance stainless steel.
Our shafts are installed on most ships in operation
in Brazil . Maximum length per section: 12 meters. |

Kort
Nozzles
Considerable gains of thrust and
fuel economy can be achieved by using Kort nozzles.
Tugs with Kort nozzles can achieve up to 40% more
bollard pull in relation to that of a conventional
propeller. The Kort nozzle also offers greater final
speed and fuel economy.
Advantages: Greater thrust and bollard
pull Higher efficiency of propulsion
Propeller protection against impacts
Less vibration |

Rubber Bearings
Because of its low coefficient of friction, high
durability, the capacity to absorb vibrations and
efficiency of lubrication, Strauhs
sleeves/bearings are the best solution for the support
of propulsion shafts in all classes and sizes of
ship.
The efficiency of these bearings is obtained by
rigorously controlling the composition of the rubber.
They are supplied with precise measures for mounting
on the shaft, with the correct tolerance for efficient
lubrication with water.
The external sleeve of naval brass, bronze or in
non-metallic material, is machined precisely to
allow easy mounting on the stern tube. Excess material
can also be left on the external diameter of the
bearing for adjustment by the customer on the stern
tube. |
|
Stern tube
Stern tubes are delivered complete including sealings
and bearings. Lubrication can be by water or oil. |
