    Quick Release Hooks

    Our hooks are designed to ensure safe and efficient mooring operations at oil, gas, chemical, iron, grain, and container terminals.

    We offer a wide range of options to meet your specific needs, including electro-hydraulic release mechanisms, load monitoring, remote control, and explosion-proof systems.

    Strauhs Hooks are robust and durable. They are designed according to strict calculations and using methods such as  Finite Element Analysis (FEM). All hooks are tested on a testing machine to ensure they meet specifications. If desired, a classification authority of your choice can witness the test.

    Quick release hooks can be used in the following applications: Oil berths, Liquid berths, LNG berths, FPSO, Grain terminals, Mooring buoys, Container terminals, Iron terminals.

    For over 30 years, we produced and installed our hooks in numerous ports throughout Brazil

    Remote release

    Allows the immediate disconnection of the ship from a central control room when it is undocking or in case of emergencies, thus reducing accident risks.

    Options

    • Hooks with manual or remote disengagement (electric, hydraulic, or pneumatic);
    • Can be disengaged even with the maximum load applied;
    • The hooks can be disengaged individually or simultaneously.

    Load monitoring system

    Allows the visualization of the acting forces. In case of overloads, alarms can be triggered to alert about risk situations, enabling the correction of the problem in advance. The force measurement is done through a load cell installed on one of the hook’s axes, allowing a correct reading regardless of its angle of inclination.
